Freaky Friday (An Apology)

I'm sorry I've been gone so long!
I feel bad about it, really I do.
I didn't do a blog last week because I had nothing to talk about.
I can't believe I am saying this, but I think I've run out of things to talk about!

And I never announced the winner of the workout competition!
So I guuuuessss I'll do that right now~
~*~*EMILY PARKS*~*~

She lost a whopping 15 pounds and 10% of her body weight!

Second place was ~*me*~ having lost 7 pounds and 4.6% of my body weight.
Third place was Francesca, who was very close behind me, who lost 6 pounds and 4.5% of her body weight!
And I am proud of Veronica, Jessica, and Max joining this and trying their best to lose weight!
I am so proud of everyone, really. (:

So Emily, we must talk about your prize~
Text me soon!

So as you may have heard I've been super duper busy having a job.
It's pretty cool.
I just sit all day making the minimum wage.
And at the moment I have $650 in the bank!
Such an awesome feeling.
I'm going to try and stretch this money for all of summer so that I don't have to ask my parents for any money for at least 2 months.
But it's hard though because I can totally buy a new lens with that money or a whole new camera.
Or just other various expensive things, haha.

So next week I'm gonna super clean my room and hopefully have a yard sale some time this summer.

Oh and also the idea of starting an Etsy shop is worming it's way back into my mind.
But I haven't sewn in a really long time so yeah...

But I am starting a baby quilt soon!
So hopefully that will motivate me to start being creative and sewing and making stuff again.
Not that I haven't been making anything.
I'm currently knitting 5 separate things.
Yeah, it's a bit much.
One needs to be done before next weekend, one by the end of July, and one by the beginning of August.
The other 2 are just whenever. But I should probably finish Roseanna's hat soon, heh.

Oh and look at these cute knitted toys!
Pigs in wigs!

Bed bugs~

And a television!

Which are all from Mochimochi Land's new book!
Which is now available on Amazon.com and I'm probably going to end up ordering it as soon as I'm done with this blog.
(Along with a camera remote (finally).)

But gosh, all of these patterns are adorable.
I can't wait to make them. (:

In case you haven't heard, I got a Pro account on Flickr!
Because of this I have gotten a lot more views and a lot more comments and it feels soooo gooood. (:
And I've also made a bunch of new sets and have been uploading a lot more than usual.
You should probably check it out sometime...

In other news I've watched a couple of movies~
I really liked this a lot. I don't care that it had super low quality green screens or that everyone has known the twist ending since before it even premiered.
I liked it. A lot. The acting was good and looking at cute actors and the trippy flashbacks/going crazy parts.
It was awesome.

I hadn't even heard about this until Max asked me to go see it with him.
If you haven't heard of it you should look up the trailer on YouTube.
It was seriously funny and awkward and I loved it.
John C. Reilly starts dating Marisa Tomei only to find out her 22 year old son, who is Jonah Hill, still lives at home.
And Jonah Hill is slightly obsessive about his mom. And they do some weird stuff moms and sons should never do ever. Haha.
But I liked it a lot and I laughed quite a bit.
I definitely recommend it.

This movie was amazing.
Absolutely amazing.
It's about this man, Colin Firth, and his whole day where he is planning to commit suicide at the end.
You find out he's gay and his partner died 8 months ago and he hasn't been happy since.
The film is directed by Tom Ford who is a costume designer so all of the design elements are super beautiful.
It's a sad and beautiful movie and I loved it.

I also love the soundtrack which I have already listened to about 10 times and I only downloaded it two days ago.

Max and I watched this yesterday and it was hilarious.
I love the Coen Brothers already so I went into this movie knowing I was gonna like it, haha.
And I did.
It's about a guy who wants his wife kidnapped so he can get some ransom money from his father-in-law so he can get out of his debts.
And then everything goes horribly wrong.
This movie is hilarious and full of Minnesotan accents and dummies.

Last week I read all 5 volumes of Scott Pilgrim.

The sixth and final volume won't be released until July 20th and I'm dyyyyyyying!
Especially because Volume 5 did not end on a happy note.

The whole series is about this guy named Scott Pilgrim who falls for this girl named Ramona Flowers and comes to find out that to date her he has to defeat her 7 Evil Ex-Boyfriends.
And the novels are about him fighting the Evil Exes, his relationship with Ramona, his band, and just Scott's life.
I loved them.
I definitely recommend these to anyone who likes graphic novels.

Alright, last thing~
I'm getting a hair cut today!
So this is your last chance to take in and appreciate my long hair.
And prepare for another very short boy hairstyle~

Well that's all for now.
Have a good weekend and keep having an awesome summer.
And I'm definitely going to try and blog more!
I promise!
Bye~~~

Freaky Friday~

SUMMER STARTS NOOOOWWWWWW
Finally done with finals and school and it's party time~~~
AKA knit, eat s'mores, watch bad movies, eat junk food, and hang out with Buddies and we're all jerks to each other.
Also, be a COMEDY GENIUS, because that's what I am, just in case you didn't know.

If you're part of the workout blog make sure you read the blog below.
I'll be asking for your final weight Sunday so beee reaaaady. (:

So the week before finals and the week of I decided to watch all 5 seasons of "Daria".
This show is awesome.
It's about this girl Daria and her family and her friends and high school.
And she's just the most apathetic person in the history of the universe.

I am now an official ChaCha guide~
ChaCha is a service where you can text, call, or go to a website and ask questions and someone else finds the answer for you.
I get paid, like, $0.10 a question but it's pretty easy and I can answer, like a question a minute.
Which is pretty fast, haha.
And yes, I get super creepy/gross questions sometimes.

Max made me watch Cloverfield.
Yes, Max makes me watch a lot of movies, haha.
It was pretty good.
I wanted to murder the camera guy, though. Most annoying character in any movie ever.
I mean, I was freaking out the whole time so I guess that means it was good, haha.

So omfg the Thespian Award show was this week.
And guess what.
Just guess.
Come on, just guess.
One guess and I'll tell you.

*~*~*~Jessica got Thespian President~*~*~*

Better than the other option...
Yeah, I said it whateverrrrrrrrrr.
It was awesome.
Oh, and the seniors made this super hilarious video.

And I made a hilarious video of my own this week.
It is called "Oreo in da Mouf"
I know you wish you could do this.

One of the biggest things I miss from the Conan O'Brien is the Walker Texas Ranger Lever.
And this is the best clip from that sketch EVER.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krrBGeqcVVI

I hate not being able to embed stuff.
Btw the quality is terrible but the video is still hilarious.

So last semester when I sold back my books I got... Little to nothing.
This semester I sold back $215 worth of books and got $106 back.
It was awesome.
And one of the books I bought last semester used for $8 so I didn't sell it back but for some reason I decided I might as well sell it back this semester.
And I got $10 for it. Ridic~

I had a pretty freaking awesome start to summer.

Tuesday night Max came over and we totally stole a hot fudge sundae from McDonalds.
Hahha, and we watched Adventure Time and lol'd.

Wednesday I spent two hours cleaning my car.
I vacuumed, windexed, scrubbed, and just cleaned so good.
I even vacuumed out the door pockets.
Insanely freaking clean.
Feels good man.

And I washed my bedding for the first time in, like, a month.
Which, trust me, is far too long.

And then I totally had spaghetti for dinner.

Thursday I hung out with Max, Vance, and Gen and we clubbed it up, dawgs.
And totally saw these guys at the Grove.

Not, the girl, just Toofer.

But it was soooo craaaaazy.
Hahaha.

And now it's Friday and I'm in Clovis and Tyler and I are watching Big Fat Liar.
Hahahaha.
We're awesome.

See you later, nerds.

Freaky Friday~

What's up nerds?
Still crying about how high school is almost over?
Hahaha, jkz. Be sad whatever.

There. Did you get all your little tears out?
Moving on, now.

So if you're a part of the the workout blog, here's some important info:
Last week I didn't ask for anyone's weights because it was the weekend of Prom and Memorial Day weekend so I figured I'd give you a week off.
Even though there's only, like, two weeks left.
So I will be asking for your current weight this weekend.
But there will be no workout tomorrow because I'm working on finals right now.

Wanna know my finals schedule?
I'm sure you do~

Monday June 7th
8:00am - Science exam (on everything we've learned this semester)

10:30am - French exam (on everything we've learned this semester)

4:30pm - Math exam (on everything we've learned this semester)

And my 5 page research on punk music for English is due but I'm just gonna email it in because I hate everyone in my English class and I never want to see any of them ever again in my life.
And also I'm pretty sure it's at the same time as my Science exam.

This weekend is so awesome. ):

So I have been taking a lot of pictures lately.
Here are some of my friend Micah and his friends at UCLA.

It was nice to see Micah and the shoot was a lot of fun.
His friends are funny and had lots of good poses planned.

I also took pictures of Jessica goin to prom and all her lil friends~

And if we're friends on Facebook you should definitely check out the whole album, there a lots of crazy cute awes chic captions~~

This week I watched *~*~*~2~*~*~* movies.
So I love this movie and I tried to play it in the living room DVD player once and it wasn't playing so I used my dad's DVD cleaner and it RUINED IT. And it was a very depressing day.
So Tyler bought me a new copy for Christmas two years ago, haha.
It was pretty awesome.
I love this movie and I know all of the words to all of the songs and all of the dialogue.
It's hilariouuuuuuuuuuuusssssssssssssssssss.

I watched this at Max's house last night and...
Hm. Let's just say that yes it totally deserved Best Picture.
Although I haven't seen Avatar and probs never will I guess my opinion doesn't mean much but whatever.
It was so sad and so interesting and the cinematography was so crazy at some points.
I was crying and freaking out and sorta yelling but not really because it was 1am and omfg.
This movie. Insane.

And is it just me or are there A LOT of good movies coming out?

Get Him to the Greek

Jonah Hex
It has Josh Brolin (he is super fine), Will Arnett, John Malkovich (omfg lol), and, ugh, Megan Fox.
I don't like her and I don't care if you do.
I am unsure if I even want to see this movie, even though it looks super amazing, because she's in it and ruining it with her bad accent.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World

I think this looks amazing.
And I don't care that "omfg michael cera plays da saem guy in evry movie omfg lolololol" I like him and shut up~
And I mean come on, Jason Schwartzman is gonna be one of the evil ex-bfs and he is awesoooome.
And the special effects look insaaaaaaaaaane.

Splice
Yeah, if you've ever heard of the movie Species you should know that they have very very very similar same plot lines, haha.
But whatever ADRIEN BRODY.
Need I say more?

So because I have so many damn pictures on my Flickr...
I need to buy a Pro account!
It's $24.95 for a whole year so I'm starting the
Get Jacqui a Freakin Pro Account Fund
So I'll take pictures of you and your friends and your pet and your family or whatever for $5.
I'll even edit them and whatever and put them on a disc if you want geeze whatevs.
But srsly. I need a Pro Account. ):
So help a brotha out~~~

So that's all for this week. I really gotta study and write and be busy and stuff.
Have a good weekend~~~ (:

Workout Blog #7

Wazzzzzzzzzaaaaaaaap?
Man, I don't know about you but I have lost most of my motivation.
Probably because of upcoming finals and not instantly losing weight, haha.

Here's the standings~

And here are your tips~

* Yoga may be relaxing but you can also get a good workout. An hour of yoga can burn up to 350 calories.
* Take a photo of yourself each week so you can see your physical transformation.
* Don't be overly-restrictive. Everyone has his or her favorite treats. Simply allow yourself a little indulgence, but watch out for the frequency and the quantity.
* Never skip a meal, especially breakfast, and eat healthy snacks between meals. Eating frequently prevents hunger pangs and the binges that follow, provides consistent energy, and may be the single most effective way to maintain metabolism efficiency.
* Beware of "fat-free" or "zero trans fats" foods as you could be trading fats for huge amounts of sugar or sodium.

Workout Blog #6

Hello, how are you?
Having a relaxing Sunday?
I will admit I didn't work out much this weekend but I have been really watching what I eat.

So here's the standings:

I think Max just drops out.
At least that's what I understood from his text telling me to shut up about it.

Alright, so here's some tip-a-rooooos.

  • Do your best to ensure you're not eating after 7 o'clock at night. You're more likely to make unhealthy choices and less likely to sleep as well after a late meal.
  • Fast food is salty food. If you cut back on the salt, in a few weeks you'll be able to better taste the natural salts in food and may not crave the junk as much as you used to.
  • Make it a point to use the steps whenever possible. Use the bathroom on a different floor at work, take the stairs at the bus station, the airport or the mall.
  • Keeping good posture will not only strengthen your core, but will also add a small extra-calorie burn, because you're working slightly harder to maintain the position. (I seriously need to work on this one. I have terrible posture.)
  • Eating water-rich foods such as melons, tomatoes and celery can help fill you up without adding too many calories to your day.

So just keep eating healthy and try to work out every day.
See you next week. (:

Workout Blog #5

Yeah, yeah. I'm suuuuper late, but I've been busy, okay?
Geeeze.

Anyways, here are the standings.

Halfway through and it's going pretty well, I'd say.

Alright, here are you tips~

  • Eat a fiber-filled apple before a meal to help you feel full faster.
  • Replace your regular pasta noodles with whole wheat pasta for a more filling meal.
  • Make your wardrobe match your goals. As you lose weight donate the clothes that no longer fit you as an incentive to stay on track.
  • If you find yourself at a weight loss plateau, up the duration of your exercise routine by five minutes.
  • Save 85 calories just by swapping mustard for mayonnaise in a sandwich.

That's all for now, just keep working out and focusing on your future self. (:

Workout Blog #4

This week I didn't work out... At all.
Except today, I walked three miles.
But I did watch what I ate a lot better than usual.

Oh and I was watching Dr. Oz he said that when you crave chocolate you should eat sunflower seeds.
I do not like sunflower seeds but maybe you can try it? Haha.

Here's the standings:

Everyone is doing pretty good.
I'm proud. (:

I figure if I can lose 5 pounds a month for 6 months then I will be at my perfect weight.
And that's not hard at all.
I just need to start working out more regularly.
This week I didn't have any motivation to work out at all.
But thinking about my future skinny self should be some good motivation, right?
Haha.

And here's your tips~
  • Take every opportunity to move around, even in small ways. Studies show fidgety people tend to be skinnier.
  • Distracted dining will get you in trouble. Avoid eating in front of a television or in a movie theater, as you're bound to consume more calories.
  • Pass on pop. You'll be amazed by how much weight you drop by simply switching to water.
  • When you eat calorie-friendly fruits and vegetables that are in season, they tend to taste better and you're more likely to enjoy them.
  • People who eat breakfast have a better shot at losing and maintaining weight loss.

Have a good week and stay motivated~ (:

Workout Blog #3

Yeah, it's Monday, so what?
I had homework yesterday. Haha.

So yesterday I walked two miles because I could not put forth the energy or motivation to jog or run.
But two miles is pretty far.

So here are the standings so far.

I rearranged it so that the image is smaller and easier to see.
So yeah, everyone, just keep working out and maybe start eating a little less sweets, haha.

Five tips!
  • Odds are you're eating too fast. Try holding a conversation while having a meal so you're not gulping down more than you need to feel full.
  • Take a brisk walk before lunch or dinner. Not only will you get in some exercise, you're less likely to choose something unhealthy after a little movement.
  • Never eat any snack food out of the box, carton or bag it came in. You're less likely to overeat if you separate snacks into appropriate fist-sized servings.
  • Eating liquid-based foods such as natural smoothies and low-sodium soup can help you cut back on calories yet feel full.
  • A pedometer can help keep track of your steps. If you're not getting 10,000 steps a day, you’re not moving enough.

Stay motivated and I'll see you next week!

Workout Blog #2

Hello!
I'm thinking I'm going to have this blog on Sunday.
But I'm not sure yet.
Depends on how next week goes.

Here's the standings as of now.

Yeah, I don't have everyone's weight which is why I'm thinking about doing it on Sundays but yeah.

So yesterday Jessica and I walked/jogged/ran the mile at Royal Oak.
Well, she did 5 laps to show me up or something.

Alright, here's a few tips~

  • Plan your meals ahead of time. That way you're less likely to make an unhealthy last-minute food choice.
  • Foods with healthy fats such as olives, salmon and walnuts help you feel satisfied.
  • Skipping meals can cause your body to go into a fat-storing starvation mode, making it harder to burn calories.
  • Don't confuse thirst with hunger. Drink a glass of water when you feel hungry to see if that's what you're really craving.
  • Tired of eating your salad on a plate? Fill a whole wheat pita with salad and a splash of lemon for a twist.

So stick to eating healthier and trying to get in 30 minutes of working out daily.
Have a good week. (:

Freaky Friday~

Hellooooooooooo, have a good week?
I've definitely had better but meh.

I've decided to just let anyone that wants to join my Weight Loss Competition can just join whenever.
I don't want to deny working out with friends to people, haha.
So here's the chart again, now with Francesca.

And our first group workout is tomorrow!
We're going to meet in the Royal Oak Parking lot in front of the Royal Oak commons at 10am.
Don't forget, and tell your friends.
And if you need a ride, I'd like to know by tonight, thank youuuuu.

Alright, moving on.
After I finished my blog last time I watched No Country for Old Men.
I really enjoyed it. It was very, very, very similar to the book which I really liked.
I definitely recommend this movie, especially if you like guns and blood and stuff.
Haha. And the book is actually a bit bloodier.

Oh, and look at what I found out about.
KLOS is having a pet adoption day with the spcaLA.
I told my dad about it and he said yesssss.
I really want a cat, but I don't think anyone else in my family does...
Hahhaa. Whatever. I'm gonna get one!
If you'd like to learn more about this event the link is here.

Tina Fey hosted SNL this week.
I love her. Sooooo much omfgggg.
And Justin Beaver was okay... I guess.
Not his music, though. That sucked.

On Monday while chillin wif some friends we watched the newest Adventure Time!
If you haven't seen this show YOU'RE STUPID.
It's just toooo funny.
If you've ever heard of "Superjail" it's kind of like that, but for kids.
Tooooo goooood.

Cutest purse ever!
Too bad it costs $68 ):
Found here.

Oh, and Laurren cut my hair!
Just my bangs for now but I like them~~~

If you follow me on twitter you've probably heard that I downloaded all 65 episodes of Jem & the Holograms.
And everyone keeps asking me, "What's Jem & the Holograms?"
First off, ya stupid.
Second off, my favourite childhood show, which I have come to find out is really terrible, haha.
I finished watching alllll 65 of them this week.
I don't know why, they sucked really badly. Hahhaa.
And the last episode was lame.
But whatevaaaa.
Yup, this was my life for the past couple of weeks.

SIDE NOTE:
Okay so on Jem & the Holograms the main character's name is Jerrica Benton and she takes on the alter ego of Jem. No one knows that they are the same person except for her bandmates and, like, the president of the United States.
So Jerrica has a boyfriend named Rio. Alright? Well, when Jem and Rio hangout she's comfortable around him because they've been dating, only with her as Jerrica.
So Jem and Rio kiss and hug and stuff all of the time.
I don't know if you realize this but that is technically cheating.
Yes, it's with herself but Rio doesn't know that!
He doesn't tell Jerrica or Jem that he loves both of them.
And Jerrica sees noooo problem with this.
Sooooo dumb.
Whatever, end side note.

Yesterday I had cramps the size of Jupiter so I laid in bed and watched movies.
A lot of movies.

A Wes Anderson movie, because I'm on that kick lately, and it was really good.
It's about 3 brothers who haven't talked since their fathers death and them traveling across India.
I just always love the colors, music, and actors in Wes Anderson movies.
Always.

This is a short film that goes with The Darjeeling Limited.
I thought it was interesting but I can just never comprehend Natalie Portman having sex or being a bitch.
Ever. It's just weird to me.
She seems like a nice naïve little girl who doesn't know what sex is. I don't know.

Another Wes Anderson movie. This was Jason Schwartzman debut movie and he was only 17 years old!
That's so awesome.
It's very "Wes Anderson-y". Yeah, I just made that up but if you've seen any Wes Anderson films you know what I mean.
I liked it a lot. It was goooood.

Not a Wes Anderson movie but I watched it because I was in the mood for weird movies.
It's about this guy named Stephane and he sometimes has trouble differentiating real life and his dreams.
I love it. I love the sets and the props and all of the dream scenes.
It's a beautiful movie.

Wes Anderson's first film and thus completing my goal of seeing all of his movies.
I kind of liked it.
It was before Wes Anderson really developed his style, as seen in his other movies, but you can still see it.
It was also Luke and Owen Wilson's first movie.
I guess Andrew Wilson was in it too but I don't recall him... I don't know what he looks like either so yeah, haha.
I thought it was slow at parts but that might also be because I was watching movies allll day and I'm not the biggest movie fan, don't ask why, because I don't know.
The end was awesome though.

Well, I suppose that's all for this week.
I really need to get up and get some stuff done today but these cramps have a different idea, hah.

I hope you have a good weekend and see you fellow work out buddies tomorrow. (:

Oh, and here is one of the funniest SNL digital shorts ever.
(btw the end is grossssssssssss)
